Stupid Mistake Realised

30.06.2010 I just realised that the second half of voyager was working, but the links in the episode selection pages were not yet updated. This is now fixed. The first season of enterprise is now working again, later seasons over the next few hours. Captain Out x

Were Back, Better Than Ever Before!

29.06.2010 Sorry about the downtime guys, we have now got a dedicated server to run the site. The transfer unfortunately caused some downtime but hopefully it was worth it; The 500 internal server errors are hopefully fixed. Please notify me by pm in the forums if you continue to receive these messages. Also, Voayger is now complete in in the new source - that is, apart from a few later episodes in season 6. Now the server problem is sorted, enterprise will be on the new source in a few hours. Captain Out x

500 error update

22.06.2010 Hello everyone! Just a quick message about the 500 internal server errors we have been getting. I need to start paying for a dedicated server as the site is getting overloaded. This will take a few days. However, if you are getting the messages just wait a few secs and try again. The error is unrelated to the episode you choose so just keep trying. Captain out. x

Episode Update

15.06.2010 The new source is **FINALLY** complete for the whole of DS9 and Seasons 1, 2, and 4 of Voyager. This means that only half of Voyager and the 4 seasons of Enterprise still use the old source. It also means way more than half the episodes are totally free of the now fabled ie bug. The rest of Voyager will be up soon. Also, my apologies for being away so long. Thanks so much for all your support! Captain Out x

Episode Update

30.05.2010 The Original Series is now complete for all users except for: Series 2 Episode 20 and 26, Series 3 Episodes 12, 14, and 23. The rest are working and linking to the correct files. The problem with Season One has been sorted - The Cage is no longer up but the other 30 episodes link to the correct files. The Cage will be uploaded shortly. Captain Out. x

New Source and a Bright Future!

29.05.2010 OK, so the the new source for the videos has been completed (links found etc). About 50% of The Original Series has been indexed with the new links and the entire of the Next Generation has been reindexed. This Will solve the epsiode links pointing to the wrong files problem. Within 10 days DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise will be using the new source. Notice also that the new source (eg. all Next Gen episodes) works in all the the browers. No longer will we need to have one source for ie and one for Friefox. This has produced some inbalance in quality and scope bewtween the two browsers and is a probelm we have focused on sorting out. We hope this makes Watchtrek easier to use. Thanks for standing by the site so far guys, Its been a rough start but things are getting better! Captain out. x

Sorry for the Downtime

14.05.2010 Hello Watchtrek fans, I'm sorry Ive been away for so long! I am going to start upating the broken episodes asap - thanks so much for your feedback in the forums. We are currently working on a third source for the videos so that the site is backed up if one of our sources goes down. Recently, this has been a priority. Once this is done we will return to the original and secondary sources and ensure that all the videos point to the right files.

ps. If you click on an episode and it gives you the wrong video try clicking on the video before or after it - you may find what you are looking for! x

IE Users - Update

20.04.2010 Hello again! I am writing to update you all to the completion of the Internet Explorer streaming system. All episodes are now available. However, please tell us if you find any links linking to the wrong episodes. I fear there are quite a few so we would much appreciate it if you could notify us as you come by them in the new forum thread - ie users misguiding links. 18.04.2010 Hey guys, just a quick update to let you know that the full array of episodes will be available to IE and Chrome users within 48 hours. Every hour more and more will work so don't worry if some are down at the moment. ALSO, we would like to give our thanks to those who have posted a link to our site in their forum signature. So, thanks so much to InAUgral from pcpowerplay.com.au, and weareborg from stargazerslounge.com. There are others, we know, but at the moment it is hard to identify them. PLEASE let is know (pm me in the forum) if you have posted a link to our site so we can reward you. If you have yet to post a link it is definitely the best way to show your appreciation for watchtrek.com, which takes so much work to maintain despite remaining (as it always will) totally free and largely ad free. x

Missing Episodes - the Solution

11.04.2010 Sorry that so many episodes have been down this week - the ie bug has been fixed but now we need to get links that work in ie for about half the episodes. For a short time (1 day?) IE will stop being able to get episodes so use firefox. By the and of today we will have one system for watching through firefox and one (the 'new system') for watching through ie. This means that those using firefox will be able to watch all the episodes that were up before while those using ie/chrome will (after the down time today) be able to watch the episodes only available through the new system. There are significantly less episodes in the new system at the moment but these are increasing by about 40 a day. Hopefully all the episodes will work in ie and firefox by the 17th of april. Cheers! x

Your feedback on this will shed some light on the problem. Please note that the problem may be that trying to load lots of episodes within 10 mins may cause the access denied messages. Our host my be trying to stop too many links being downloaded at once. Cheers guys. HOPEFULLY this will be sorted by tommorow evening. x

31.03.2010 OK - Indexing is finished - lets hope it now works in all browsers... There have been some problems with loading loads of episodes within 10 mins (not watching them all the way through, just loading one after another within a short space of time) but this may be our 'host' automatically locking out bots from eating up their bandwitdth. Please report any access denied messages in the 'fixed?' board in the forums. Lets pray that this works. Captain Out.

Google Chrome and IE Bug - Fixed!

31.03.2010 It appears we have managed to fix the IE and Google Chrome Bug! We have been working solid for about a week now and have had to rewrite the source for the site from scratch, but in the end it has proven to be worthwhile. If you still have problems - which you may well do - give it a few mins or just try another episode. We still recommend you use Firefox, however this is no longer essential. We would just like to give a special mention to all those that offered their advice during the period of turmoil: DColeman21, Deltaflyer, Sarah82, Deltapattern, Moosetek13, Badjokebob, Nitrorc, Warspeed, Mister Jester and Trentglass Thanks guys! Google Chrome and IE Bug - Update

24.03.2010 Thanks to some help from the growing community the problem with 'access denied' messages is getting sorted (this might mean using a different player). In the meantime tho - USE FIREFOX as this will definitely not cause probllems. x

23.03.2010 Hello again, if you are using Google Chrome the episodes will not play, and if youre using IE they may not play all of the time. Use Firefox, or Safari and this bug will magically disappear. This bug goes quite deep but will be fixed as a matter of priority. Sorry about this, making things work in every browser is the most time consuming thing in web design and now google have added one things are only worse! x

Broken Episodes - Update

23.03.2010 OK, so Voayger Season 6 and Season 7 now links to Voyager and not DS9 as before, the entire original series is now fixed and working and series 2 of next gen is complete and working. We are still working on it so please be patient! Thanks guys! x

23.02.2010 TNG Season 1, Voyager Season 3 and several other links that point to the wrong episode have now been absolute. The third Season of the Original Series is still pointing to DS9 episodes, however this will be absolute by tomorrow evening.
